Cahaba Environmental Center’s Sole Sisters invite young women to join them!

The Cahaba Environmental Center (CEC), in partnership with  Canoe the Cahaba, Cahaba Riverkeeper, and the Cahaba River Society, was selected recently as  recipients  of the North Face’s Explore Fund  for their new program Sole Sisters.

Here is how the program works according to the CEC website:

Young women (ages 13-17) from the Birmingham area come out to the Cahaba Environmental Center for a weekend of backpacking and canoeing. By participating in a Sole Sisters weekend, young women will recognize the importance of different leadership strengths as they work together to overcome challenges  amidst  the beautiful Cahaba River watershed.  They will discover inspiration from themselves, their peers, and the outdoors.
