Exploring Wild Alabama

Exploring Wild Alabama authors Ken Wills and Larry Davenport were recently featured on Fred Hunter’s Absolutely Alabama television program.

Here is the link to the Absolutely Alabama video.

Published by the University of Alabama Press and released this fall, Exploring Wild Alabama is the “go to” guidebook about Alabama’s public lands.  The book is rich with passages about the state’s biodiversity and special places.

From Jackson County to the Gulf of Mexico, there are about 150 entries, filled with descriptions and vital information such as, how to travel to the public lands and what to expect when you arrive.

“The purpose (of the book) is to get people outdoors and experience special places,” stated Davenport in the Absolutely Alabama profile.

As always, Absolutely Alabama’s Fred Hunter does a wonderful job interviewing Wills and Davenport, who are given an opportunity to express their deep passion for places like Moss Rock Preserve, the Sipsey River Swamp and the mountains of North Alabama.

A must read and great gift for families and friends, Exploring Wild Alabama can be ordered through the University of Alabama Press or found at most local bookstores.
