Memorial Day at American Village

The American Village in Montevallo is open to the public with free admission on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27. Gates open at 10:00 a.m., and “A Salute to Veterans” begins at 11:00 a.m. in the Colonial Chapel.
While Memorial Day is a somber occasion, we also celebrate what our country’s veterans fought for – our freedoms as Americans. Memorial Day events at the American Village include drilling with the Continental Army and talking to soldiers in the encampment, learning about apothecary medicine in the herb garden, playing 18th Century games, and meeting patriots John and Abigail Adams, Samuel Adams, and other revolutionary figures.
Admission is free, and food trucks will be onsite, so bring the whole family to the American Village for Memorial Day.
