I-459 ramps at Galleria, US-31 shut nightly Sept. 28–Oct. 1

Heading to the Galleria after dark this week? Plan ahead.

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is closing entrance and exit ramps nightly for resurfacing on I-459 at the US-31 and Galleria exits from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1.

The work begins in the evening at 7PM and ends at 6AM.

List of nightly entrance and exit ramp closures

The improvements by ALDOT are along a 3.2 mile stretch on I-459 between Exit SR-150 (Exit 10) to north of US-31(Exits 13).

 The tentative schedule for this week’s nightly ramp closures between September 28 – October 1 on I-459 is as follows:

• September 28: US-31 southbound ramp onto I-459 northbound
• September 28: Galleria Boulevard ramp on I-459 northbound
• September 28-30: US-31 northbound onto I-459 northbound
• September 30 – October 1: US-31 onto I-459 southbound
• October 1: Galleria Boulevard ramp onto I-459 northbound
• October 1: US-31 southbound ramp onto I-459 northbound

ALDOT recommends drivers use SR-150 between US-31 and Exit 10 as an alternative route during these ramp closures.

Presently, the contractor is scheduled to finish the total resurfacing project by Spring 2027.
