I-459 Hoover ramps closing nightly near Galleria from Sept. 21-24

If you normally hop off I-459 at the Galleria or Stadium Trace after dinner, give yourself extra time this week.

Several I-459 entrance and exit ramps will be closed nightly this week between the Galleria (US-31 exit) and the Stadium Trace/The Grove (Exit 10).

Which I-459 ramps are closed and when?

The Alabama Department of Transportation announced the closing this weekend which is part of an ongoing effort to resurface these much-traveled on and off ramps.

Below is the tentative schedule for the first round of I-459 southbound (traveling toward Bessemer and Tuscaloosa) nightly ramp closures.

• September 21, 2026: US-31 on ramp to I-459 southbound
• September 22, 2026: Galleria Flyover (Exit 13 B) off ramp
• September 23, 2026: US-31 off ramp (Exit 13 A)
• September 24, 2026: SR-150 off ramp (Exit 10)

Each night, the referenced ramps will remain closed from 7PM until 6AM for milling work, according to ALDOT.

Project completion expected in Spring 2027

This project along the popular 3.2 mile stretch of interstate is expected to last until Spring 2027. ALDOT has currently scheduled additional rounds of nightly ramp closures for September 27-October 1, October 4-7 and October 8-14.
