Sidewalk Cinema attached a new sign today to the Pizitz building this morning at 11AM in preparation for the upcoming  opening night of 28th Annual Sidewalk Film Festival.

The official lighting of the new blade sign will occur on Friday, August 29, 2026 at approximately 9:30PM.

Located at 1821 and 2nd Avenue North, the sign stands 28 feet tall and three feet wide.

β€œSidewalk has been a part of the theater district for the last 28 years with the film festival, and we made a permanent home in the theater district in 2019.

We’re thrilled that the stars have finally aligned, and we get to put a big, beautiful sign up to go along with our friends at the Alabama, the Lyric and Carver and add another theater marquee sign in the theater district.”

Chloe Cook, Executive Director, Sidewalk Film
