The facade of a vacant restaurant building at 121 20th Street North in Birmingham, Alabama collapsed on July 25, 2026; no injuries were reported.
The incident occurred adjacent to the historic Bromberg’s building. The spot was once home to Ahiki’s, a Mediterranean New York-style restaurant that closed in 2025.
No one was hurt according to multiple reports.
Another facade collapsed in 2023, when strong winds brought down a wall on the corner of 19th St. and 2nd Ave. North that had been recently painted by several local muralists.
Below are photos of the collapse taken on Sunday.
