Two Pihakis restaurants now closed in Homewood, including last Hero Diner

In the latest spree of Pihakis Restaurant Group (PRG) closings, two Homewood restaurants are now closed “until further notice” and “temporarily.”

It’s official—the last remaining Hero Diner has closed its doors “until further notice.” Previously, Pihakis Restaurant Group operated nine Hero locations in Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.

Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ — Homewood

Hero Diner isn’t the only PRG-owned restaurant in Homewood to close. Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ, located at 2701 18th St S in Homewood, is “temporarily closed” according to a sign on the front door. The BBQ restaurant’s Homewood location is the third to close in recent weeks; the Rodney Scott’s in Trussville (312 Main St, Trussville, AL 35173) and at Valley Post (1004 Dunnavant Valley Rd, Chelsea, AL 35043) are also listed as “temporarily closed.”
