Hero Diner closes Stadium Trace Village location

Hero Diner, a popular restaurant chain founded in Birmingham, has closed its Stadium Trace Village location in Hoover according to a sign posted on the entrance door.
The closure took effect Sunday, April 12, and comes alongside the shutdown of Tasty Town, a Greek restaurant operated by the same ownership group.
Hero closes Hoover location

Known for its brioche doughnuts, breakfast buns and coffee, Hero is a local staple with four remaining Birmingham-area locations. There are also three more locations in Montgomery, Fayetteville and Atlanta.
While not much has been said regarding the reason for the closures of Hero and Tasty Town, the sign posted on Hero’s door reads:
“As of April 12, 2026, this Hero location has permanently closed. We invite you to visit us at our Homewood location. Thank you for your continued support—we look forward to serving you there.”

The restaurant is owned by the Pihakis Restaurant Group, the Birmingham-based company behind restaurants like:
