East Pole Coffee Co. to close on January 31

Confirmed by a handwritten note on the counter, East Pole Coffee Co. on 1st Avenue South in Birmingham is closing at the end of the month.

The Atlanta-based coffee shop moved into Birmingham’s Denham Building in June 2023.

Since then, it’s welcomed locals and newcomers alike with delicious coffee and treats.

It’s one of my personal favorite spots—whether I’m grabbing a quick cup of coffee or catching up with a friend.

East Pole to close on January 31

We spoke to East Pole about the past couple of years in Birmingham.

“We genuinely enjoyed our time bringing the East Pole brand to Birmingham.

We want to offer our sincere gratitude to our amazing, hospitable staff, friendly customers, and neighbors in Railroad Park. We are excited to see the district continue to take shape and were honored to be part of the early days of The Denham Building’s latest evolution.”

You’ve got until Friday, January 31 to say your goodbyes.
