New local grocer brings healthy grab-and-go meals to Vestavia Hills

A popular shop that offers delicious healthy prepared meals has opened in Vestavia Hills.

Opened on June 27th, The Kitchen by Market is an on-the-go grocery concept located at 1031 Montgomery Hwy., adjacent to the Picklr, the new indoor pickleball hub. The new shop is the second gourmet grocery shop by Market Mountain Brook, the original location that opened in Mountain Brook Village in early 2025.

The Kitchen by Market features 30+ chefs and vendors

What makes The Kitchen special is its one stop shop vibe. The place offers a wide range of grab and go food items, easy to cook meals and a la carte style lunches and dinners. They also feature more than 30 local chefs and vendors from Birmingham and all over the Southeast.

According to The Kitchen’s owner Chris Moses, customer favorites include:

• Wraps
• Homemade chicken salad
• Protein balls
• Salads made locally by Tre Luna
• Additional local offerings by Better Kombucha, Fridge Snack (protein bars) and Trapezi (Greek table dressing and marinade)
