New owner shares plans for The Grocery Brewpub in Homewood
Reading time: 2 minutes
With 24 rotating taps, a menu full of pub-style food, games and pool tables (free on Sundays!), The Grocery Brewpub has been a popular hangout in Homewood since it opened in 2019.
We spoke with The Grocery’s new owner, Peyton Walker, to learn more about his plans for Homewood’s first brewpub.
Meet the new owner of The Grocery Brewpub
If you’ve been to The Grocery Brewpub recently, you may have already started to notice some changes.
Last month, Peyton Walker took the helm at The Grocery after purchasing the brewpub from its previous owner.
“I had worked here as a bartender, then partial owner and manager of the night shift, so I was familiar with the business and profit margin. Beyond that, I had a lot of fun bartending here; The Grocery has a very special team.”

Although it’s only been a month, Peyton and his team have already implemented some new changes, such as trivia on Mondays and bingo on Tuesdays. Plus, they plan to host regular karaoke nights soon.
“We want to host more live music, so we’re building a new stage that can support a full band rather than just a couple musicians. Behind the stage, we’ll have a 12-foot-by-6-foot LED wall so we can have watch parties for football, basketball, baseball and popular TV shows. We’re adding surround sound all around the bar to make it feel like a stadium atmosphere when games are on.”

Peyton and his team aim to have the new additions complete by November at the latest. In addition, they plan to update The Grocery’s food menu, including new appetizers like:
- Buffalo chicken dip
- Cheese sticks
- Onion rings
- Fried pickles
- And more
