Hop City in the Lakeview District was named the 2nd best Beer Bar in U.S. by USA Today (Hop City Beeer and Wine)

Hop City Beer & Wine in Birmingham’s Lakeview finished 2nd in the 2024 USA Today’s 10Best Readers Choice contest for the Best Beer Bar in the U.S.

It is the second time in the past three years the popular beer bar has come up as a bridesmaid.

“As much as we hoped to get the win this year, the real honor is being nominated by the highly regarded panel of beer industry experts for the third year in a row. We are incredibly proud of our establishment and more importantly our people. We look forward to serving up the best of the best beer and wine to the Magic City for many years to come.”

Why is Hop City popular?

What makes Hop City stand out?

According to Hop City, there are three reasons:

  • Selection: “We are confident that we have the best beer selection in Alabama and perhaps the Southeast. Pair that with a vast, thoughtful and sometimes geeky selection of wine from all over the world, and it is no surprise that so many people consider us an alcohol destination.”
  • Staff: “Our staff is truly what makes this place special. Between their endless knowledge, friendly faces, and their welcoming, inclusive attitudes, we couldn’t do any of this without them.”
  • Dedication to the community: “From making our everyday shoppers happy to helping with large life events and our donation to charities, we feel truly blessed to be a part of the Birmingham community. We love our neighborhood, our neighbors, and our hugely loyal group of regulars.”
