Openings

1. Cicis Pizza | Trussville

Trussville’s Cicis Pizza has reopened in Trussville Crossings. The restaurant first opened its doors in October 2016, quickly establishing itself as a beloved family dining spot. However, in the aftermath of the pandemic, the popular pizza chain faced challenges reopening. Now it’s back!

2. Capella Pizzeria | Trussville

Capella Pizzeria has opened its second Birmingham location in Homestead Village. The family-owned restaurant brings Italy to the Greater Birmingham Area with custom wood-fired pizza, community-style tables, classic Italian music and European football games on TV.

3.  PURE Taqueria | Avondale

PURE Taqueria, known for its vibrant atmosphere and delicious Mexican cuisine, is set to open soon in Avondale. Originating from Georgia, the restaurant is known for its exceptional margaritas, tequilas and authentic Mexican dishes. This marks their first venture outside of Georgia, bringing their unique culinary experience to The Magic City.

4. European Wax Center | Hoover

European Wax Centers franchise is set to open a new location in the Trace Crossings Shopping Center near Publix. European Wax Center, with over 1,000 nationwide locations, offers a range of services including waxing, laser hair removal, brow tinting and more, making it the largest and fastest-growing hair removal services franchise in the US.

5. Starbucks | Cahaba Crossing

Need a new caffeine stop? Starbucks Coffee is set to open a new location in Irondale’s Cahaba Crossing shopping center, located at the intersection of Grants Mill Road and Old Leeds Road.

6. FUNBOX | The Shops of Grand River

The World’s Biggest Bounce Park is coming to Birmingham for a limited time at The Shops of Grand River. From March 1-May 20, you can indulge in this 25,000-square-foot bouncing paradise filled with activities.

Closings

1. Baja California Cantina Grill | Crestwood

Baja California Cantina Grill on Crestwood Boulevard has closed, confirmed by Bham Now after contacting its sister location in Gardendale. The restaurant has also taken down its website and Facebook page.

2. CVS | Clairmont Avenue

A well-known retail store on Birmingham’s south side is set to close its doors on March 14. CVS Pharmacy, located near Piggly Wiggly on Clairmont Avenue, will bid farewell to customers. The closure is signaled by numerous signs placed throughout the store.
