When it comes to pizza, we know you’ve got options. But it truly doesn’t get better than the real thing—pizza made the Italian way. Family-owned by two brothers, two cousins and an uncle, Capella opened in January this year.

“We started Capella because we are very passionate about making pizza. We love providing an opportunity to bring people together over a shared love of food.”

Mehmet Ozbey, Owner, Capella Pizzeria

As soon as you walk in the doors, you’ll be surrounded by the aroma of fresh, wood-fired pizza. The friendly faces at Capella will greet you with a smile and bring you next level slices.

Bringing Italy to Birmingham

The Ozbey family was drawn to Birmingham for its thriving culinary scene, and with pizza like this, we think they’ll fit right in.

So you may be wondering, what makes Capella pizza authentically Italian? It’s all about the process and ingredients.

Their flour, San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and olive oil are all imported straight from Naples, Italy. Plus, ingredients like fresh basil are sourced locally in Birmingham. That’s what I call the best of both worlds.

These aren’t your average pies. When these pizzas are wood-fired, it creates a perfectly airy lightly-charred crust that’s to die for. You can truly taste the flavors of each ingredient.

By using Italian ingredients, Capella’s pizza have a distinctive flavor and texture that can’t be replicated. Everything is made from scratch, with house-made, hand-tossed dough.

What make our pizza unique is the quality, simplicity, and authenticity of ingredients. The pizza cooked in wood-fired oven gives it a distinct charred flavor and crispy crust. We respect the old-age Italian tradition of pizza-making, with a perfect balance of flavors and texture.
