The heart behind Christmas Village Festival
Christmas Village Festival touches the hearts of families across the Greater Birmingham Area. As a long-time vendor and the creative mind behind the White Christmas nativities, Lisa Smythe reflects on what got her started in Christmas Village Festival.
“I started making tiny little white nativities for family and teacher gifts when our older two children were in preschool (our oldest just turned 40, so it’s been a long time)!
It was a labor of love and something I truly enjoyed doing. Each year, the Lord blessed me with new ideas and inspiration. About 20 years ago, I applied to Christmas Village, but it was full. About three weeks before the show, I got a phone call to see if I was still interested. I happily said yes and got busy.
Over the years, we have met so many precious people and heard their stories—both joyful and heartbreaking. We are thankful to Christmas Village for the opportunity to share our gift!”
