Happy Monday Birmingham. There are lots of fun openings headed to The Magic City that are sure to spice up your week. From doggy daycare to a new restaurant specializing in Indian street food, keep reading to know the when and where.

1. Dogtopia | Parkside

Dogtopia Parkside is opening in October. The new location will offer all the same services and amenities as Dogtopia Homewood plus a 1,000-square-foot outdoor play space.

2. Honest Coffee Roasters | Homewood

Tennessee-based Honest Coffee Roasters has opened its first Magic City location in Homewood. In addition to a wide array of coffee + espresso options, Honest Coffee Roasters offers a variety of delicious breakfast options and açaí bowls.

3. Chipotle | Gardendale

The new Chipotle in Gardendale is located next to the Olive Garden that also opened this summer. The management team has been training and is ready to serve you. Stop by for a burrito bowl or tacos.

4. Eggholic | Five Points South

A new restaurant, Eggholic, specializing in Indian street food is coming to the former Waffle House space in Five Points South in early 2024. The restaurant specializes in authentic egg-based Indian dishes, including curries, sandwiches and traditional street food. Popular dishes include Amdavadi Touch, Surti Gotalo, Samosa Chaat, Cheese Katori and Lava Pulp.

5. Aqua-Tots | Hoover

Aqua-Tots Swim Schools, the largest international swim school franchise is officially coming to Birmingham. The Hoover location, set to open in October, will mark this company’s first Alabama location. Aqua-Tots Hoover will feature a 6,000-square-foot indoor swim facility, providing Jefferson and Shelby counties families with year-round access to high-quality swim lessons.

Shop ’till you drop at the Pell City Square! Last September we shared the news about the groundbreaking of the Pell City Square shopping center. While some stores have already opened their doors, keep reading to find out what other stores are coming soon.

According to a Facebook post by Pell City’s Mayor Bill Pruitt on August 8, below are the projected opening dates for the shopping center’s remaining stores:

  • Rack Room Shoes – August 17, 2023
  • Old Navy – September 27, 2023
  • Ulta Beauty – September 29, 2023
  • America’s Best Eyeglasses – October 1, 2023
  • Ross – October 6, 2023
  • Hobby Lobby – October 15, 2023
  • PetSmart – October 15, 2023

7. Taj India | Clairmont Ave

Taj India, the popular Indian restaurant on Highland Avenue, has moved after nearly 30 years. The restaurant is now open at the former Bogue’s Restaurant location at 3120 Clairmont Avenue South. Check out their new space over a delicious meal.

8. Taco Mac | Pelham

Taco Mac is coming to Pelham. Get ready to enjoy wings, tacos, chili cheese dogs and many other delicious eats. Watch your favorite sports games over Taco Mac’s signature drinks.

9. Peterbrooke Chocolatier | Cahaba Heights

Peterbrooke Chocolatier is now open in the Heights Village in Cahaba Heights. The chocolate company is known for its amazing American treats dipped in fine European chocolate. My favorite is the popcorn dipped in creamy milk chocolate.

10. Stix | Hoover

According to the Birmingham Business Journal (BBJ), Stix a restaurant specializing in hibachi, sushi and Asian dishes has reopened under new ownership in Hoover. The previous owners of Stix put up a sign saying it was permanently closed, but now, Yapstix Group Inc. has reopened the restaurant with 18 employees, reported on by the BBJ.
