1. Cappella Pizzeria | Inverness

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s Cappella Pizzeria. You’re transported to Italy at this spot with wood-fired pizza, classical Italian music and European football games playing on TV. I’m a sucker for a traditional Margherita pizza, so you’ll catch me trying out this new restaurant soon.

“Capella’s cheese, flour, extra virgin olive oil and truffle oil are all imported from Italy, as are its Citterio pepperoni and sopressata. The sausage is made by an Italian family who lives north of Milan. Capella takes pride in using San Marzano tomatoes in its sauce and all natural ingredients in its recipes”

Mehmet Ozbey, Owner, Capella Italian, according to Birmingham Business Journal

2. Magic Milkshakes & More | Hoover

With their opening on December 17, Magic Milkshakes & More is the perfect place to treat yourself. This family-owned ice cream store in Hoover is serving all of our favorites. From waffle sundaes to delectable milkshakes like their Twix one, your sweet tooth will fall in love with this place.

3. Sunshine Creamery | Rocky Ridge

During the beginning of 2023, Rocky Ridge is getting a sweet treat. According to Vestavia Voice, owners Jarrard and Casey Ray’s two children thought of the idea of Sunshine Creamery. This bright and cheery ice cream shop will have 36 flavors, ice cream cakes, shakes, sundaes and more delicious goodness.

4. Flower Betty | Vestavia Hills

Two of my favorite things are together in one spot. Coffee and books are now part of Flower Betty, a flower business, according to Vestavia Voice. With a separate entrance from the flower store, there’s a bookstore with seating and a coffee cart—the perfect place to sip a latte and read a beloved book.
