From Italy to Birmingham
When you eat at Capella Pizzeria, you will be transported into an authentic, family-friendly Italian environment. Here is what Mehmet Ozbey, owner, told the Birmingham Business Journal:
“Capella’s cheese, flour, extra virgin olive oil and truffle oil are all imported from Italy, as are its Citterio pepperoni and sopressata. The sausage is made by an Italian family who lives north of Milan. Capella takes pride in using San Marzano tomatoes in its sauce and all natural ingredients in its recipes”

The goal of the restaurant is not only to have imported Italian ingredients but also for the customers to feel like they have been transported to Italy while they dine. The pizzeria has community-style tables and plays classic Italian music and features European football games daily on the TV screens, like a true Italian pizza place.
