Oh, how I love all of the green. (Chaise Sanders / Bham Now)

Plant lovers, we have sad news for you. Botanica is closing the downtown location after three and a half years at the end of this year. Read on to learn why this Birmingham business is closing and how you can still support this shop.

Weโ€™re sad to say goodbye to Botanica

Botanica
Botanica founder and owner, Caitlin Hastings (Sabrina Palmer / Bham Now)

This houseplant shop will be closing its doors at the end of 2022 due to the decision to end the lease. Donโ€™t worryโ€”owner Caitlin Hastings is still going to share her plant knowledge with her plantscaping services for residents and businesses in Birmingham and Huntsville. Sheโ€™ll offer in-person plant consultations, installations and ongoing maintenance.

Plus, the Huntsville location of Botanica will stay open under the new ownership of the current store manager, Kitt Campbell.

โ€œSince 2018, Botanica has provided me a creative escape from my stressful career as a physician assistant and I am so thankful for each and every one of you who made that possible by supporting our small business. The plantscaping and design aspect of this business is what Iโ€™ve grown to love more than anything, so Iโ€™m very excited to continue making spaces greener and spreading my love for plants around Birmingham and Huntsville.โ€
