Completed in 1984, the building at 2101 4th Avenue North has been home to the YMCA of Greater Birmingham since the facility opened in 1985. Now, the YMCA is listing their downtown location on the market.

According to the Birmingham Business Journal, the YMCA of Greater Birmingham is actively seeking to relocate to a building with a smaller footprint in Birmingham. Although the YMCA is considering all of downtown Birmingham, they have their eye on a few areas in particular—such as the increasingly-popular Parkside district.

Listed for $5.75 million

The property at 2101 4th Avenue North is currently listed $5,750,000 by Ironvest Partners Principal Robert Crook alongside Abra Barnes of Barnes & Associates. According to the listing, the building includes:

  • 89,286 square feet of space and is zoned B4
  • An indoor recreational/lap pool, two elevators, rooftop available for additional square footage and a full-length basketball court

In addition, the listing notes that the property is located in an Opportunity Zone and is within walking distance of businesses, restaurants, bars, hotels, theatres and city parks.
