1. The Bright Star

Transporting you to Greece, this Alabama staple—it’s the state’s oldest restaurant—is offering some high-class dishes, including crab claws, breaded veal steak and Greek-style beef tenderloin. This restaurant has received national recognition, including a shoutout from The Wall Street Journal, and celebrity visitors, such as Sandra Bullock. Plus, Nick Saban has his own booth there.

2. J&J Grocery and Deli

Are you looking for the best burger in town? J&J in Bessemer knows how to serve this American classic right. After chowing down on a burger and onion rights, you can pick up your groceries at the same spot!

A local favorite, Bob Sykes Bar-B-Q is offering the best classics, such as ribs, fried okra and mac and cheese. This restaurant is so good that it was even featured on The Cooking Channel.

4. The Back Porch
