If you’re like us and always want a mid-morning sweet treat, you’re going to want to pay attention to this special edition of openings. From a pĆ¢tisserie opening on First Ave. N to retail in Pelham, we’ve got six of Birmingham’s most anticipated openings ready for you.

1. Osaka Japanese Sushi Steakhouse | Helena

The former Golden Rule Restaurant space on Highway 52 just got a makeover. Meet Osaka Japanese Sushi Steakhouse, serving fresh hibachi and sushi.

According to the Shelby County Reporter, sibling duo Mandy and Wen Lin are restaurant veterans with more than 20 years of experience. Osaka will feature family recipes, right down to the sauce. They’ve been wanting to open a Helena restaurant for awhile, and the stars have officially aligned.

Plus, they’re hiring. Even if you don’t have sushi/chef experience, hard workers are always welcome, according to the Lins.

Alabasterā€”no need to drive for delicious cookies anymore. Crumbl Cookies is officially coming to Alabaster. After a year of our Crumbl location in Vestavia Hills, Crumbl franchise owners, Jason and Rebecca Dickey, are expanding to The Alabaster Promenade.

Although the company itself is only five years old, it’s taken off quickly, due to the ever-changing menu and fresh flavors each week. Pro tip: the cookies are definitely shareable.

Hooray for Bandit! This is an opening we frequently got asked about, so we’re happy to share an update. Bandit PĆ¢tisserie officially opened on Tuesday, August 9 on First Ave. N in the Mercantile on Morris development.

Decked out in balloons and florals for their sister bar, Bar Le FĆŖte, Bandit truly was the star of the show. For coffee, we chose an Iced Vanilla Latte and an Iced Matcha Latte. For pastries, we opted for the peachy hand pie and the almond croissant which made for the perfect mid-morning pick-me-up.

5. Taco Mac + Mountain High Outfitters | Pelham

Montgomery-based Prevail Coffee is heading to the Shipt Tower in downtown Birmingham. While they serve delicious coffee and coffee beverages, they’re passionate about the relationship between the roasters and their shops.

After Prevail Coffee was founded in Auburn in 2013, they expanded to Montgomery and Atlanta. Now, they’re opening their third location in a prime spot for commuters and professionals who, let’s face it, love themselves a cup of coffee.

They’re opening right after Labor Day weekend, so make sure to check back to see the finished space.
