Helping our furry friends since 2011

The Remy Fund was established by Birmingham area philanthropist, Ken Jackson, to honor the memory of his late dog, Remy. You may recognize the fund’s name from the popular Remy’s Dog Park at Red Mountain Park.

The special fund ensures that local organizations that provide critical resources for companion animals (dogs, cats and horses) will always be supported through annual grants. Thanks to the generous support of donors, including a $100K gift from VP Funds, the Remy Fund has surpassed $1M in total assets.

This year, the Remy Fund has reached another impressive milestone, surpassing $500K in grants provided to local animal nonprofits in Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Blount and Walker counties since 2011.

β€œI am excited to see that the Remy Fund has been able to provide much-needed support to organizations that are making a significant impact on our companion animals. It has been incredibly rewarding to work with generous donors, our volunteer grant committee and the team at the Community Foundation over the last 10 years in making a difference for our animals and the humans they touch in our community.”
