When is there NOT something happening in Hoover? New biz and new news is always poppin’ out of that place, so we rounded up a few items that might’ve passed you by.

1. Kitty Kat Haven gets a new home

Hoover, you have some adorable new neighbors. The cutest Birmingham nonprofit recently moved into a house and they’re ready for you to come visit. The haven is currently open for appointments only, but don’t let that stop you from finding a furever friend.

2. Autism In Motion therapy center opens first Alabama location

Autism in Motion already has locations in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee and now has expanded to Alabama. Board-certified analysts provide autism therapy through the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) method. Learn more.

3. Big Whiskeys plans July opening

It’s like your favorite sports bar meets a distillery hybrid. With over 100 different types of whiskey, New Orlean’s style fish bowls and an extensive menu, there’s no doubt this is the place to have a good time. Read more about what you can expect from the grand opening.

4. Hoover Public Library accepts returns + prepares for curbside pickup

Anyone else thought they’d be doing a whole lot more reading during self-isolation? Yeah, Tik Tok ruined that dream real fast. Luckily, Hoover Public Library is not only accepting returns in preparation for curbside pickup on June 1, they also have free book bags!

5. “Concerts in the Car” at the Hoover Met

Starting in June, the Black Jacket Symphony will be bringing the music to your car, but not through the radio. The Hoover Met is hosting a new way of seeing the band, Concerts in the Car. Think like a drive-in, except it’s live music and you can lean back in your seat without getting dirty looks from the person behind you.
