For the second year, the Shelby County Humane Society is hosting Twas the Night Before Christmas Dinner for their animals. You can sponsor a pet for only $10. Your donation will provide a pet with a plate of homemade food—like sweet potatoes and meat—toys and extra love on Christmas Eve. Give the gift of giving here.

You can Venmo your donation to BestFriendsofShelbyHumane or you can text SHELBY to 26989.

  • non raw-hide bones
  • cat + dog wet food
  • blankets

Check out their website to find out more info on what you can do.

Adopt a Golden

Golden Retriever Rescue is managed and operated 100% by volunteers. So this holiday season, you can donate your time to help this Birmingham Shelter. They rely solely on donations to operate. Also, the dogs are housed in private foster homes, since they don’t have a shelter building.

Apply to become a foster or volunteer. Keep Birmingham goldens smiling!

SO, give an animal a warm place to stay this winter by fostering. If you’re comfortable with animals being in your home temporarily, then apply today for fostering. It’s an awesome experience.

Did you know Animal League of Birmingham (ALOB) raises money throughout the year for Birmingham shelters? Basically, they act as a stopgap—or insurance—for shelters in times of crisis. So if a shelter needs immediate help, they go to ALOB.

Help Birmingham Animals out by donating to this organization. You can make a one-time or reoccurring donation here.

Let’s help out Birmingham shelters, so they all can reach their goals by the end of the year. Stay paws-some, Bham.
