The Taste of 4th Avenue Jazz Festival is back! It will take place on Saturday, August 27, 2022, in the historic 4th Avenue business district in downtown Birmingham and it’s FREE. Read on to get the event details.
About The Taste of 4th Avenue Jazz Festival
The Taste of 4th Avenue Jazz Festival had to take a long hiatus due to COVID-19, we’re happy to announce that it’s back. The festival, inspired by “The Taste of Chicago,” a free outdoor music and food festival, it has been a summer tradition in The Magic City since 2003. Organizers include Urban Impact, Inc. and the Taste of 4th Avenue, Inc’s Board.
The historic festival location
The Taste of 4th Avenue Jazz Festival takes place in the heart of the historic 4th Avenue business district that served as the center for Black commerce and culture during segregation. The festival allows the Birmingham community to come together under the unifying element of jazz and they want you to come.
What to expect at The Taste of 4th Avenue Jazz Festival
You will be able to enjoy the soulful sounds of local and nationally-recognized artists. Some past festival performers have been:
- Bobbi Humphrey
- Kim Waters
- Michael Ward
- The Birmingham Heritage Band
There will also be food and art vendors to enjoy during the one-day festival.
