Alabama Peanut Co. unveils NEW peanut truck + 4 more Birmingham openings that are a can’t-miss

1. Alabama Peanut Co.’s Peanut Truck
Ever wish you could have roasted and boiled peanuts at your favorite bar or event? Alabama Peanut Co. has heard your cries and presents a tasty solution.
Everyone give a big welcome to the Peanut Truck—an on-the-go extension of the Alabama Peanut Co. They spent their opening weekend at pop-ups all around the city and they’re ready to hit the road again. Their new truck was wrapped locally by Yellowhammer Creative so if you see them driving around town, make sure to give them a wave (and follow them for tasty peanuts).

2. SLIDE | Downtown
Big news this weekend—SLIDE (formerly in Irondale with plans to expand in Pelham) is embarking on their next adventure—the Denham Building. Food Network Chef, Raquel Erwin, is excited about bringing SLIDE’s delicious sliders and sides closer to the downtown area.
With this, they also announced the closing of their Irondale location and cancelled their Pelham location opening. However, this means the SLIDE team is on to bigger and better things! According to a recent Instagram post, the new location will be opening their doors Fall of 2022.

3. Jim ‘N Nicks | Alabaster
Picture this: it’s Tuesday night and you have a hankering for barbecue… but need it quickly. Meet the new concept of Jim ‘N Nicks Alabaster. It has been transformed to become a fast-casual eatery—the first of its kind as the company looks to expand further across the Southeast.
Here’s what Mike Waller, owner of Jim ‘N Nicks Alabaster, had to say about the conversion.
“The conversion to quick-casual is an exciting change we’re thrilled to see implemented at our location. I’m confident that our customers will enjoy the ease, convenience and flexibility of this new dining style while experiencing the same high-quality service, great BBQ and light-hearted, family-like atmosphere that they look forward to when dining in our restaurants.”

This means a full-service bar and a faster way for guests to pick up takeout orders while maintaining convenient drive-thru and catering options, according to a recent press release.

4. June Coffee | Downtown
While we’ve been counting down the days until their opening, the team at June Coffee has been hard at work (and it shows). Get ready to meet your new favorite coffee shop—June Coffee. Located on 25th St, customers have the option of enjoying a cup of June coffee in-house or getting a bag of freshly roasted coffee to-go.
One of our Bham Now team members had the opportunity to try out June Coffee for herself. Her thoughts? She rated it a 10/10 and recommended the iced pistachio rose latte.

5. Los Bomberos Coffee Trailer
Speaking of coffee—there will soon be a new coffee truck in town. Local roaster, Los Bomberos Café, is firing up the roasters—this time, in their own trailer. This local roaster is firefighter-owned-and-operated business that takes roasting to the next level. With their products on local supermarket shelves, these two guys are looking to up their coffee game.
Keep an eye on their Instagram for all of their work with the trailer—we can promise you that it won’t disappoint. PS—if you’re looking to show them some love, they sell their fiery blends online with free local delivery.
