Has parking in Uptown ever felt daunting to you? With upcoming sporting events like USFL games and The World Games 2022, countless concerts and more events, there’s no better time to learn the ins and outs of parking in Uptown than now.

We spoke with our friends at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) to learn more about parking options in Uptown!

Parking in Uptown

As Birmingham’s premier entertainment district, there is always something fun to do in Uptown—whether it is a USFL game at Protective Stadium, a Birmingham Squadron game at Legacy Arena, a concert at the BJCC Concert Hall or anything in-between. However, you’re not the only one interested in these events—in fact, the BJCC welcomes over 1 million visitors each year!

Despite seeing countless visitors each day, and many more during special events, finding parking in Uptown is not as hard as you might think. The BJCC offers more than 6000 parking spaces in their lots alone—not to mention Birmingham Parking Authority garages and street parking.

• Red Garage (1400 spaces)
• Orange Lot (Premier Parking, 380 spaces)
• Boutwell Garage (1400 spaces)
• Green Lot (400 spaces)
• Pink Lot (90 spaces + Tesla charging)
• Silver Garage (330 spaces)
• Gold Lot (120 spaces)
• Blue Garage (1800 spaces)
• Purple Lot (180 spaces)

Event-Specific Parking

Arena — Birmingham Squadron, Concerts, NCAA March Madness

Heading out to the Legacy Arena to see the Birmingham Squadron take on their latest opponent? You’ll want to look for parking in one of these lots:

• Orange Lot: 1000 19th Street North, Birmingham, AL 35234
• Silver Garage: 1080 22nd Street North, Birmingham, AL 35234
• Blue Garage: 2000 11th Avenue North, Birmingham, AL 35234
• Purple Lot: 930 19th Street North, Birmingham, AL 35234
• Boutwell Garage: 801 19th Street North, Birmingham, AL 35234

Concert Hall / Theatre — Concerts & Other Events

It’s time to see a concert! For events at the BJCC Concert Hall or Theatre, you can find parking at:

Stadium — USFL, Birmingham Legion FC and UAB Football

Do you have tickets to a USFL game or to see Garth Brooks perform at Protective Stadium on June 4th? For events at Protective Stadium, the BJCC recommends parking at:

• Gold Lot: 2130 11th Avenue North, Birmingham, AL 35234
• Green Lot: 2478 11th Avenue North, Birmingham, AL 35234
• Red Garage: 917 22nd Street North, Birmingham, AL 35234
• Pink Lot: 973 23rd Street North, Birmingham, AL 35234
• Silver Garage: 1080 22nd Street North, Birmingham, AL 35234
• Blue Garage: 2000 11th Avenue, Birmingham, AL 35234

USFL Pro Tip: For USFL gamedays, the BJCC highly suggests parking in Green, Pink, Red, and Blue lots. The Green Lot will be $10 to park, and all other BJCC Lots will be $20.

Birmingham Legion FC Pro Tip: Want to tailgate before the big game? The Magic City Brigade and all Legion FC fans are invited to tailgate in the Green Lot starting three hours before kickoff.

ADA Accessibility

The BJCC is committed to ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience to all visitors, and makes sure all venues and parking options comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

An accessible parking and drop off area is located at the Legacy Arena’s Entry A2 on 19th Street, with additional ADA-compliant parking at the:

• Orange Lot
• Purple Lot
• Blue Garage
• Silver Garage
• Red Garage
• Pink Garage

Parking tips from our friends at The BJCC

Before you head out to your next event at the BJCC, here are a few extra tips to make your visit the best one yet!

BJCC Pro Tips:

• Plan on arriving around to the BJCC about an hour before your event starts. In the meantime, stop by Uptown for food & drinks!
• Event parking is pay-on-site ($20) if pre-paid parking is not offered.
• Consider carpooling or using a ride-sharing program like Uber, Lyft or Birmingham On-Demand if you don’t want to pay full-price for parking!
• The BJCC highly recommends using the Waze app to navigate to any of their parking lots. Plus, the BJCC keeps Waze updated with road closures for specific events!
• Please check your upcoming event’s Know Before You Go information for event-specific parking.
