New Birmingham businesses seem to be popping up everywhereโ€”from Hoover to Homewood. Here are a few of our favorite finds that you need to check out this week or mark your calendar for their grand opening.

1. Bitty and Beauโ€™s

Charlotte-based Bitty and Beauโ€™s is headed down south. Amy and Ben Wright founded Bitty and Beauโ€™s in 2016 after becoming inspired by their two children, Bitty and Beau, with Down Syndrome, and Lillyโ€”born with autism. They seek to build a radically inclusive community with the motto โ€œA human rights movement disguised as a coffee shopโ€.

This coffee shop employs those with intellectual and developmental disabilities and empowers them by fostering independence and a career mindset. Since their founding, Bitty and Beauโ€™s has expanded to over 23 shops across 12 states. PSโ€”theyโ€™re not just opening in Birmingham. Bitty and Beauโ€™s is also coming to Gay St. in Auburn, too! We canโ€™t wait to welcome these new businesses to Alabama.

2. The Alta | Vestavia Hills

A new luxury hotel and spa is on its way to Patchwork Farms in Vestavia Hills. Everyone meet The Altaโ€”your next staycation spot. To offer some friendly competition with luxury hotels in other cities like The Valley Hotel or The Grand Bohemian Hotel, The Alta will be Vestaviaโ€™s hottest luxury spot. The area and project is expected to boomโ€”with $2 billion in economic impact projected over a 10-year period.

This project is spearheaded by Christopher Architecture and Interiors and will be expected to break ground in late 2022 with 24 months of anticipated construction.

3. Antique Market on Linden | Homewood

Meet your new favorite storeโ€”Antique Market on Linden. This vibrant spot is blessing Homewood with charming vintage finds, eclectic pieces, jewelry and gifts. The store is a collaborative effort from a few people behind Homewood Antiques plus a new few faces. Located right next to Caveat Coffee, it seems like the perfect spot to grab a coffee and spend an afternoon perusing this new shop.

Be sure to check out their Instagram to get acquainted with their antique dealers and their specialties. We canโ€™t wait to see what treasures youโ€™ll find!

4. ETCโ€ฆ Jewelry and Accessories | Homewood

Head out to their grand opening party on Thursday, April 14 and Friday April 15 to see what the excitement is all about. There will be refreshments from their neighbors, BUKA Bham and Daily Edition Coffee, as well as an ear piercing party from Jade Trauโ€”complimentary with a purchase of Jade Trau studs. Be sure to make an appointment here and join the party this Thursday.

5. Tina and Ginaโ€™s | Downtown

Recently, we announced the news of Tina and Ginaโ€™s Sandwich Shoppe coming soon to The Pizitz. Today, we have an exciting update. You can grab one of these New York deli-inspired sandwiches starting Saturday, April 16 from 3-8PM.

Personally, I canโ€™t wait to try this new spot. Tina and Ginaโ€™s is bringing fresh flavor to The Pizitz with deli favorites like a Chopped Cheeseโ€”an NYC classic sandwich with ground beef, onions, melted cheese, lettuce, tomatoes + more. If youโ€™re not in the mood for a sandwich, you can still support Tina and Ginaโ€™s by trying their truffle fries, soups, potato salad and ice cream sandwiches. Weโ€™ll be counting down the days over here.
