The Transformation Challenge is a rigorous, eight-week commitment for those looking to improve their physical and mental health. Winners also take home some serious cash.

Running from January through March, the Challenge asks all participants to complete three workouts per week for six of the eight weeks. All five Orangetheory locations in Birmingham hosted the challenge, and we were lucky enough to chat with one of the participants, Robbie.

Meet Transformation Challenge participant, Robbie

Robbie joined Orangetheory fitness nine weeks ago, and jumped straight into the Transformation Challenge. In those nine weeks, he’s lost a jaw-dropping 35 pounds!

As a middle school physical education teacher, he loves the convenience of Orangetheory’s class schedule—he’s a regular at the studio’s 5AM class. He says the ability to come in and knock out the workout is his favorite way to start his day and stay motivated.

“Orangetheory has exceeded all of my expectations for my fitness, health and wellness and mental health.”

But, Orangetheory is more than a place to shred some serious pounds. While Robbie is a big fan of the killer workouts, he also appreciates the community atmosphere and energy that his Orangetheory coaches and fellow members bring to every session.

Before each class, the group gathers outside the studio and gets to know each other a little bit better. Whether they’re talking through the day’s workout, or learning what their lives look like outside the studio, it’s been one of Robbie’s favorite parts of membership.

“There’s a time before class where everyone waits together and you can find different conversations going on. You’re given an opportunity to meet other people… We start at the same, we workout at the same time and we finish at the same time. It’s a really great push of physical, social and mental health for our wellbeing.”
