Looking forward to sunnier days ahead? So are we. From fried chicken to face painting, we’ve got plenty of fun-filled events that you need to mark on your calendar. Keep reading for all the details.

1. Bham Be Brunchin

  • What: A 90s R&B themed brunch with music by JayDott, Soul Food buffet, champagne specials, a cash bar and more.

2. Mom’s Basement Mardi Gras Chicken Parade

  • What: Enjoy live jazzy music from Chad Fisher and His Brass Band and free fried chicken at the 3rd annual Mom’s Mardi Gras Chicken Parade. The parade will start at the new Ghost Train location and end at Cahaba Brewing, with an after party at Mom’s Basement.
  • When: Sat. Feb. 26th | Parade starts at 6PM; After party goes until 2AM.

3. Vintage Market Days in Birmingham

  • What: An all-indoors market featuring over 90 dealers with unique vintage & antique goods, handmade treasures, clothing & jewelry and much more.
  • When: Thurs.-Sat. March 3-5th | 10AM-4PM
  • Where: The Finley Center—5508 Stadium Trace Pkwy, Hoover, AL 35244
  • Ticket price: Starting at $11, Children 12 and under admitted free of charge—buy tickets here. Cash and credit card accepted at the gate. Once purchased, your ticket is good for re-entry into the event all weekend.

4. North Arts Council Spring Arts and Crafts Show

  • What: A free arts and crafts show featuring over 80 booths filled with handmade goods—this show features handmade arts and crafts only.
  • When: Fri. March 11th | 9AM-6PM
  • Where: Gardendale Civic Center
  • Ticket price: Free admission and free parking

5. Ross Bridge Spring Fling Market

  • What: A free community event supporting local farmers, artisans & more with live music, food trucks, local shopping and free kid’s activities.
  • When: Saturday March 19th | 1-5PM

7. Magic City Fried Chicken Festival

  • What: Judges and the audience will vote for the best chicken in the Magic City, while you enjoy local vendors, live music, food trucks and of course, plenty of fried chicken. Event proceeds go to C.A.S.E.D, a nonprofit that provides educational after school programming to local youth.
  • When: Sat. March 19th | 1-5PM

8. Corbin Farms Winery Spring Wine Festival

  • What: A come-and-go style wine festival with local vendors, food trucks, live music, grape stomping, food and wine from CFW and some great gear to help kick off spring in the South.
  • When: Sat. April 9th | 11AM-8PM
  • Where: Corbin Farms Winery—800 County Road 87 Calera, AL 35040
  • Ticket price: Tickets are $24 for adults (21+) or $7 for children(<21)—buy tickets here. Ticket prices will increase day of to $30 for adults and $10 for children
  • Ticket Info-Adult tickets include a drink ticket, grape stomp ticket, Corbin Cash (valid towards any purchase made with the winery on 04/09/22) and several other items in a Corbin Farms tote bag. Kid’s tickets include a grape stomp ticket and a free soft drink.

9. Cahabaque

  • What: Join Cahaba Brewing Co. and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama in this annual BBQ cook-off. Guests can try all-you-can-eat samples from each team’s BBQ offerings and vote for their favorite while enjoying craft beer and live music.
  • When: Sat. April 9th | 1PM
  • Where: Cahaba Brewing Co.—4500 5th Ave S Building C, Birmingham, AL 35222
  • Ticket price: Tickets on sale March 1. GA tickets are $15 in advance for ages 11+. Price increases to $20 at the gate. Children 10 & under are free. 
  • VIP Tickets ($50) include access to the Redmont Distillery VIP Lounge, early entry to the event beginning at 12 PM (first dibs on the ‘que!), private bathrooms (no need to wait in line), swag bag, and beer and liquor tastings throughout the day (while supplies last).

10. Darterfest at Avondale Brewing Co.

  • What: Support and celebrate the Turkey Creek Nature Preserve with live music, food and drinks, kid’s activities, and more. Current music guests include Faith Apostolic Choir and DJ Rob, with food from Eugene’s Hot Chicken and Avondale Burger Co.—more to come.
  • When: Sun. April 10th | 12-5PM
  • Where: Avondale Brewing Co.—201 41st St S, Birmingham, AL 35222
  • Ticket price: Advance GA tickets are $10, and advance VIP tickets – which include food and drinks from Luna and prime indoor seating – are $50. Tickets will be $15 for general and $60 for VIP at the door. Purchase here.

11. Back Forty’s Outdoor Day

  • What: Join Back Forty Beer Co. for a day of fun dedicated to spending time outdoors. Enjoy vendors, live music and of course, plenty of beer. More details to come.
  • When: Saturday April 16th | Doors open at 11AM, Live music from Early James 3-6PM, Event ends at 6PM

12. Gardendale Magnolia Festival

  • What: The Annual Gardendale Magnolia Festival is an award-winning family friendly event with over 150 vendors, two stages of live entertainment, a dog parade, midway-style carnival, car show, free kid zone, petting zoo and more.
  • When: Fri. April 22-Sat. April 23
  • Where: Gardendale Civic Center
  • Ticket price: Free admission and parking

13. Magic City Art Connection

  • What: Come out for the 39th year of Magic City Art Connection, presenting around 150 fine artists from the region and around the country to visitors hungry for art, culture, creativity, entertainment, food and fun. All mediums, styles and price points will be represented.
  • When: Fri. April 22-24
  • Where: Sloss Furnaces-20 32nd St N, Birmingham, AL 35222

14. Bob Sykes BBQ and Blues Fest

  • What: Bring a chair and a picnic blanket to set up a spot and enjoy live blues music and Bob Sykes BBQ. Plus, there will be plenty of vendors, drinks and family fun.

15. Episcopal Place Gumbo Gala

  • What: Gumbo Gala is the annual fundraiser for Episcopal Place, where 40 cook teams battle it out to determine who has the best gumbo in Birmingham. This friendly competition draws thousands of guests every year with free samples, live music and beverages.
  • When: Sat. April 30th
  • Where: Cahaba Brewing Co.
  • Ticket price: $20—purchase tickets here. Consider making an additonal donation to Episcopal Place.

16. Do Dah Day Festival

  • What: Do Dah Day is an annual festival that rasies money for local animal shelters. Bring your four-legged friends and party with pups, live music, food trucks and vendors. More information to come.

17. Trussville Makers Market

18. Homestead Hollow Festival

  • What: Homestead Hollow features fine arts, one of a kind handmade crafts, pioneer demonstrations, whiskey making, cabin tours, live music, delicious food, kid’s events and much more.

19. Helena’s Buck Creek Festival

What: This family-friendly annual event raises funds that go right back to the Helena community with crafts, children’s activities, great food, fabulous music and tons of vendors.
When: Fri. May 13-14

20. 5th Annual Magic City Wine Fest

  • What: The Magic City Wine fest offers beer and of course, wine selections, from different regions across the globe. Taste around the world while supporting the Birmingham Zoo.
  • When: Sat. May 14th | 6-9PM
  • Where: The Birmingham Zoo
  • Ticket price: Non-drinking guests $20, General admission $49 including admission, a free souvenir wine glass, a passport brochure, and a donation to the Birmingham Zoo. $79 VIP—Purchase tickets here

21. 2022 ALBC Crawfish Boil

  • What: Head over to Ghost Train Brewing for the 3rd Annual Alabama Bourbon Club Crawfish Boil. They will have crawfish from Craw Daddy Dave, beer from Ghost Train, Boston Butts and a bourbon bottle share table.
  • When: Sat. May 14th | 6-9PM
  • Where: Ghost Train Brewing—2616 3rd Ave S, Birmingham, AL 35233

22. Druid City Arts Festival
