New AmFirst branch coming to Clanton by 2027

Chilton County is getting a new spot to handle everything from everyday banking to business finances.
Birmingham-based credit union AmFirst is expanding into Clanton, purchasing a property at 2040 7th St S that will become its first branch in Chilton County and 23rd location overall.
AmFirst expands to Clanton
The approximately 3,000-square-foot building was previously home to another financial institution and will get a refresh before reopening as a full-service AmFirst branch. Plans include teller stations, office space, a drive-thru + an interactive teller machine (ITM).
While this will be AmFirst’s first physical location in Chilton County, the credit union says it already serves members in the area through existing personal and business relationships.

Clanton branch construction begins late 2026
Renovations are expected to begin immediately, with the new Clanton branch slated to open in late 2026. The location will offer in-person access to AmFirst’s financial services for individuals, families + businesses in Clanton and the surrounding area.
More details about construction and a grand opening celebration will be shared as the project moves forward.
