Meet the team behind the Woodlawn Bar and Lounge

The Woodlawn Bar and Lounge is owned and operated by Birmingham firefighter Corey Whatley and his team, Quincy Coleman and Byron Watkins. The trio met while working for the city and have been best friends—and now business partners—ever since.

“It’s always been my main goal to have my own cigar lounge, but we wanted to start off with a bar first and open a cigar lounge once our brand is established. The three of us are entrepreneurs, so this is an opportunity for us to work together and give back to the community.”

The Woodlawn Bar and Lounge stocks all your favorite beers, wines, liquors and cocktails. Make sure to try their signature drinks, like The Wood, a Woodford Reserve-based drink that represents Woodlawn.

According to Corey Whatley and Quincy Coleman, the Woodlawn Bar and Lounge is meant to be a space for anyone and everyone to relax, hang out and enjoy fellowship with their neighbors.

“We really want the Woodlawn Bar and Lounge to have a diverse crowd—we have big ideas for community events we want to host, like a Super Bowl watch party, Taco Tuesdays, performances from local bands and live DJs and so much more.

There’s a lot we can say, but to get the full experience you need to come in and see the Woodlawn Bar and Lounge for yourself. We’ve got big dreams, wonderful bartenders, a great vibe, a diverse crowd and diverse music. Come visit us and see how Woodlawn is growing.”
