Created in 2021 in New York City, the chain restaurant offers classic and customer craft salad options, wraps, warm bowls, limited-time seasonal menus and more.

Birmingham got its first taste of the delicious restaurant when Chopt opened its first Alabama location at The Summit in February 2021. So far, it’s been nothing but rave reviews, which makes perfect sense as to why a second location is being opened nearby in Vestavia Hills.

“We have truly enjoyed Birmingham and our new neighbors thus far. We’ve built great relationships, cheers’ed at BirmingFam Fest and collaborated with great businesses and nonprofits… and we’re excited to continue building our community here.”

Julie Atkinson, Chief Marketing Officer, Chopt Creative Salad Co.

The new location

Chopt plans to open their new space at 708 Montgomery Highway, Suite 108 in Vestavia Hills.

The 3,000-square-foot space will feature:

  • A dining room seating 48
  • A patio seating 16
  • An expansive pick-up shelf with mural of local Vestavia Hills landmark—Sibyl Temple

It will also offer a new group ordering feature, curbside pickup and contactless in-store ordering.

Another reason it’s awesome—the new location will create 40 jobs for the Greater Birmingham Area. If you’re interested in applying, head here.

Give back during Chopt Give Day

One thing I love about Chopt is that they host a “Chopt Give Day” at each of their new location openings where they partner with local charities to give back.

For The Summit’s opening in February 2021, for example, Chopt teamed up with The Exceptional Foundation—an organization serving individuals with special needs across the Greater Birmingham Area. During the event, 100% of sales from all digital purchases made that day were donated to The Exceptional Foundation.

Currently, we are awaiting more info on which local charity Chopt will partner with for Vestavia Hill’s Chopt Gives Day, so stay tuned to their Facebook and Instagram.
