Birmingham beer lovers: we’ve got fantastic news for you. Ghost Train Brewing Co. is opening a new location with a music venue, formal event space, larger taproom and more. Keep reading for all the hoppy details.

What’s new?

For six years, Ghost Train has been one of Bham’s favorite spots to grab a cold one. Now, it’s getting major updates that are worth toasting to.

These innovations have been in the works for a while. We’ve been behind the scenes of the M2 development since 2019 and knew it was gonna be good when Ghost Train Brewing Co. joined the party. We chatted with Tom Carruthers, President of Red Rocks Realty Group, about the new digs.

“We are really excited about having Ghost Train join our other tenants. The M2 building is going to be a great addition to what’s turning out to be a vibrant little community there, and a real catalyst for further growth in that area.”

Let’s take a look at what’s coming next.

Dance the night away 🕺

One of the additions we couldn’t be more excited about is the music space. According to a recent story from AboutTown.com, they anticipate a space for up to 1,000 people. Plenty of room to bring all your friends to groove with some brews. Get ready for the ultimate live music experience with a video wall behind the stage and an incredible audio set-up.

This addition means Ghost Train will have three stages for local artists and national names to put on a show.

The team at Ghost Train anticipates more than just music, with stand-up comedy and eclectic art shows also taking the stage. Plus, a new formal event space means taproom parties—and you’re invited.

Green grass and good beer

The weather’s getting colder, but we can dream about sunny days ahead on Ghost Train’s upcoming spacious field area.

You’re gonna want to pack your lawn chair and come thirsty. There’s an outdoor stage for jazzy live music, a walk-up bar, and the best part? It’s going to be alongside the new Jones Valley Trail Extension of the Rotary Trail and the upcoming Sunrise Plaza. You’ll be a short walk away from some Avondale faves:

…and much more.

Expanded production space

We can’t forget about the brews. This new space makes way for many more production possibilities. Ghost Train already has big plans for sending their good libations across the Southeast. Florida markets are saying hello to classics like the Kaleidoscope Sour and Gulf Coast IPA in 2022.

As for the Lakeview location, it’ll be used by their all-star production team to experiment with microbrews and other creative drink projects. At this time, it is unclear whether or not it will be open to the public.

Where can I find it?

The new location will be less than a mile away from Ghost Train’s current home, in a completely renovated version of the Old Car Heaven. Their doors are planning on opening in early 2022.
