2. Downtown Churches Tour
Downtown Birmingham is filled with some of the most gorgeous churches around. But did you know many of them date back as far as the city’s founding days? Cool, I know.
During Vulcan Park & Museum’s Downtown Churches Tour, you’ll have the chance to see first-hand some of the original congregations that are still prospering today, including:
- Cathedral Church of the Advent
- Cathedral of St. Paul
- 16th Street Baptist Church
- First Presbyterian Church
- First United Methodist Church

3. Birmingham Mineral Railroad Tour
Ever wondered how the location of the City of Birmingham came to be? Then hop aboard an imaginary train for the Birmingham Mineral Railroad Tour.
What you’ll discover:
- The history of local mining and iron-making companies.
- The purpose the Railroad once served.
- Plant life and beautiful views of the area that is now known as the Kiwanis Vulcan Trail.

Birmingham played a prominent role in the sport and Vulcan Park & Museum offers an exciting look into the famed Black Barons and Barons with their coolest exhibit yet—From Factory to Field: The Dream of Baseball in Birmingham.
Here’s a peek at what the exhibit highlights:
- Early baseball with the Industrial League, club baseball and amateur league play
- The construction of Rickwood Field and the golden age years of baseball in Birmingham
- Great players + events from 1900-1950
- The Birmingham Black Barons + the 1948 Negro League World Series
