What’s up, Birmingham? This week we are coming at you live with FIVE new openings that you need to check out this week. Whether you are a country music fanatic, a coffee lover or just want to treat yourself to a new ‘do, these are for you. Keep reading to see all the new openings in the Magic City.
1. O’Henry’s- Dunnavant Valley
We are all about a new coffee shop in the neighborhood, and even better when it’s local. This new opening of O’Henry’s Coffee opened this past week, and we are excited for all the mid-day pick-me-ups to come. They roast their own coffee, so you can experience the true flavor of Birmingham roasted coffee. Conecuh Cheddar Biscuit and a Vanilla Iced Coffee Royale, please!

2. Adored Sweets
Located in Remlap, Alabama, this new sweet shop is officially open for business. Specializing in cheesecake, occasion cakes and wedding cakes, Adored Sweets owner Takeeka Goshay officially cut the ribbon on August 12 and had plenty of free samples for us to try. (Pro-tip, the strawberry cake is amazing.) Go check them out next time you need a sweet treat.

3. The Fennec
As Birmingham’s newest event venue, The Fennec has everything you could possibly need for a great night out with friends. With live music, a delicious lunch and dinner menu and just an all-around great atmosphere, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Plus, it doubles as an event space, so your next event can be picture perfect. Don’t want to rent the whole venue? No worries! There are several areas spread throughout the venue for a more intimate gathering. Come enjoy a top-notch dinner + drinks in one of the coolest spots in the city.

4. Encore Rouge
This Birmingham food truck officially has a brick and mortar location headed to Southside. Since 2017, Encore Rouge has been serving up pastas, burgers, wings, and fries straight from the food truck. With their new location beside Taco Mama, this business will still be able to focus on that gourmet street food with a bit of that Cajun kick to it.
While there is no set date to open, Encore Rouge has advertised free shots to its first 100 grand opening guests, so stay tuned for more announcements there.

5. JL Beauty Bar
Get ready, Bessemer! There’s a new beauty bar in town. Meet JL Beauty Bar— the creation of owner Jaletra Williams. This new spot includes everything you need to treat yourself, including cuts, shampoos, hair extensions, treatments, braids, crochets, silk press— including a great line of hair care products to help take care of your luscious locks.
