Innovation Depot is undergoing some exciting updates. Here’s a closer look and what it means for Birmingham.

A Brand Transformation

Through a partnership with Birmingham-based agency, Telegraph Creative, Innovation Depot will undergo a brand transformation. After 2020, I think we could all benefit from a transformation of some sort. So here’s what it means.

Innovation Depot will keep its signature name, but it will show off a a new, sleek, tech-inspired design with a rich, bold color palette.. They’ll also feature a new tagline of “Where startups start up.” I gotta say, I like it.

But there’s more.

Through a partnership with Kinetic Communications, Innovation Depot plans to undergo a website redesign. Expect it to go live in mid to late February.

“Innovation Depot is the heartbeat of Birmingham’s tech and entrepreneurial network, and our team felt that it was time to revisit the look of The Depot brand in hopes of meaningfully connecting with more individuals in our community. We had an excellent local partner in Telegraph, and we’re extremely excited about how they’ve been able to help us translate our vision into an exciting and engaging visual identity.”

New Programs

Telegraph also assisted The Depot with branding for two new programs:

  • Vision ID: a free, seven-day series of informative and interactive emails that demystify the terminology and processes around launching a startup. Expected launch date: Spring 2021
  • Voltage: a nine-week program designed to support entrepreneurs who have an idea for a tech- or tech-enabled business as they translate their idea into a prototype. Start date: February 9, 2021

A New Member Portal

Yes, there’s more, and it comes in the form of a new member portal as well as a mobile app. The Innovation Depot app, which can be found in both the Apple and Android app stores, provides a streamlined experience for the employees of companies based in The Depot.

Through the app, members can book conference rooms, pay bills, check for building updates and more.

A New Tenant

Innovation Depot loves looking for opportunities to bring its programming and services to residents throughout Birmingham. This being said, The Depot will be one of the anchor tenants in the new Ramsay McCormack Building located in Ensley. No, they’re not relocating, just expanding.

“We love it when founders come to us for support, but we’re particularly excited to go out in search of more entrepreneurs in Birmingham and offer them a community of mentors as well as a playbook for success. We can’t wait to help you start up.”

Drew Honeycutt, CEO, Innovation Depot

Last but not least

The Depot has plans to undergo some much-needed building upgrades.

“Innovation Depot is housed in a sprawling 140,000 square foot space that requires a great deal of maintenance and care. We believe that the upcoming structural and landscaping improvements as well as the new greenery and murals will make coming to work at The Depot an even more pleasant and inspiring experience for our 100+ member companies and their employees.”
