Learn at Play with LEGOS

For years, McWane has held its annual and highly anticipated LEGO Day event in January. But this year, it gets even better. Instead of just one LEGO-filled day, McWane, with presenting partner Wells Fargo, is extending the fun into an entire Brickology exhibit.

Starting January 23, discover 5,500 square feet of creative space that explores science, art and math concepts through construction block play. Learn at play—now that’s a concept I truly love. Happily, so does McWane.

Here’s a peek at some of the stimulating, hands-on features of this brilliant exhibit:

  • Building Tables. With hundreds of pounds of LEGOs for visitors of all ages, let your imagination loose to design one-of-a-kind creations. From dinosaurs and race cars to castles and airplanes, the options are endless.
  • Giant Jump Ramp. How do you like your race car—fast, flashy, big, small? Dream it, build it, then put it to the test on a Giant Jump Ramp that measures 8’ tall x 20’ long.
  • Earthquake Tables. Think you can build the tallest, strongest and most durable LEGO tower? Find out by testing it on a vibrating earthquake table that’s so quivery it would make King Kong quake in his fur.
  • MOC “My Own Creation” Displays: From Batman’s Arkham Asylum to a scale model of the Alabama Theatre, witness the creations of some of Birmingham’s most talented creators. Trust me, you’ll be wowed.

Find the Brickology exhibit during regular business hours beginning Saturday, January 23 in McWane’s Adventure Halls.

The price for Brickology is included in the cost of general admission. Save time, buy your tickets now.
