Cheers to seeing Birmingham businesses grow. TrimTab, one of the city’s favorite local brewers is getting ready to expand their operations in the Lakeview area and we’ve got the deets.

The award-winning, small craft brewery has only one way to go and that’s up—or in this case, out. TrimTab Brewing plans to expand but they don’t have far to go.

Wait! Where are they going?

Don’t worry because they’re still keeping their current location and the expansion isn’t far from where TrimTab sits now. As a matter of fact, it’s next door. They plan to expand their production facility into the building on 5th Avenue South to keep up with their increased demand. More room means more great brews so it’s a win-win for everyone.

The building they’re taking over is 500 28th Street South and previously was home to Motus Motorcycles. The designer of the upcoming project is Rob Walker Architects who are the same people behind office space in English Village, Frost Cummings Tidewell’s impressive penthouse-level office, Athens Flats and more.

Details about the expansion

TrimTab’s project will include extra space for additional condensing units and tanks to store some of our favorite brews before kegging, canning and packaging. The new facility would also include several bulk grain silos that can feed into the production area.

When it comes to aesthetics, of course, the project will be consistent with TrimTab’s brand and colors. So when all is said and done, you’ll be able to tell the new building is part of TrimTab Brewing.

A TrimTab expansion you can enjoy now

As restaurants, bars, breweries and businesses continue to take precautions regarding the pandemic, we’re starting to see a ton of outdoor seating options in Birmingham. To better accommodate guests, TrimTab expanded their patio area and it’s a major glow up. Not only does it allow you to space out but a lot of it is shaded which calls for bonus points, especially in this Alabama heat.
