Irondale welcomes new food truck + we’re ready to taco ’bout it
Reading time: 2 minutes
We always say Birmingham likes to eat, but nothing gets us more excited than two things when it comes to the fire food scene: tacos and food trucks. Taco Mariachi recently opened in Irondale and we were so siked that lunch plans immediately fell into action.
What’s on the menu? 🌮
Nothing is left off the list except an unlimited option. All your faves make the menu including tacos, burritos, tortas and sopes. We opted for the chicken tacos, steak tacos, and sopes with chorizo and Mexican sausage.
Let’s just say, this is the kind of food that will make you and your taste buds do a happy dance. 💯 I’m already feeling nostalgic over just a few hours ago.
Yaretzi Arteaga, who runs the truck with her family, says sopes are one of the most popular items. We’re not going to argue with the majority—they were better than great. However, Yaretzi says her personal choice would be the steak tortas.
Swing by and say hi
If you’re planning to stop by, expect quick service and company. It’s clear the taco truck is picking up traction and definitely seemed like a favorite in the area.
“There weren’t any taco trucks in Irondale so we decided to open one up and it’s been doing really well!”

Food trucks keep popping up (and we’re not mad about it)
With Taco Mariachi checked off our list, we’re making our way through all of the new food trucks heating up Birmingham’s streets recently. At least three have opened in the past month, including a plant-based food truck and one that serves everything on a stick. Sounds like you could get on board?
