I’m always looking for ways to jazz up my neutral tone outfits. What better way to do that than repping local gems to show off some personality. Here are 7 Birmingham-based accessory and jewelry designers to put on your radar.

1. Hide & Hunter

I broke the #1 rule of adulting—don’t leave your valuables in plain sight in the car. I learned the hard way after my favorite leather wallet got stolen. After searching online for weeks, I stumbled into Hide & Hunter‘s pop-up location at Upswing. Needless to say, I walked away with the perfect leather wallet and a new favorite local designer.

Founder, Hannah Christine, makes incredible leather accessories. Part of the proceeds are donated to ministry trips.

2. Woodlawn Jewelry Co.

Woodlawn Jewelry Co. is a new personal fave of mine. I came across this brand while browsing through Charm on 2nd and copped myself a pair of earrings. Who knew you could instantly feel put together just by putting on some groovy, handmade earrings?

3. Brittany Brockett-Davis

Brittany makes pieces that are seriously one-of-a-kind. Where else can you find Truly, La Croix and White Claw earrings in Birmingham?

She even makes pins, keychains and earrings with some of your favorite icons’ faces like:

  • Dr. Frank-N-Furter
  • Ruth Bader Ginsberg
  • Nick Saban
  • Cam Newton
  • Mayor Randall Woodfin

4. Blue Q

Blue Q is #relatable. When you just can’t seem to get your message across, let your socks say it for you. Their edgy, downright hilarious products include socks, oven mitts, aprons and totes just to name a few. Who said life has to be mundane? Now you can serve up a little sass even in the kitchen.

You can find an array of their products at Charm on 2nd.

5. Verra Studios

Verra Studios is where elegance meets the influence of nature. The brand specializes in turning natural materials into wearable art whether it’s bracelets, earrings or necklaces.

You can find these stunning boho designs on 3rd Ave downtown in the same storefront as Botanica.

6. Selune Jewelry

This shout-out is dedicated to all my ~artsy~ gals and guys looking to spice up their outfits with local jewelry. Selune Jewelry popped onto my Instagram explorer page and for once, I’m glad my phone tracked my consumer behavior. This brand makes the golden, simple silhouette earrings of my dreams.

7. Susan Gordon

Susan Gordon, an Etsy icon, opened her first storefront in Birmingham last year. Her wavy bowls and handmade jewelry made her one of the top sellers on Etsy.

Her simplistic timeless designs continue to be her signature aesthetic. You can find her jewelry and custom pottery online or at her Homewood storefront.
