Although Pho Pho Vietnamese & Sushi Bar closed their Five Points South location in 2019, you can still find them in the Pizitz Food Hall. And coming soon, you’ll be able to get your pho fix in Hoover. Learn all about Pho Pho’s upcoming location.
Bringing Pho to Birmingham
- Pizitz Food Hall: 1821 2nd Ave North, Birmingham, AL 35203
In 2014, Young Shin opened the first Pho Pho Vietnamese & Sushi Bar in Five Points South. Instantly, the restaurant was a hit. Eventually, he opened a second location in the Pizitz Food Hall.
Pho Pho has been looking to bring their delicious menu to a new area of Birmingham.
“I’ve noticed that many residents in the suburbs drive all the way down to Highway 280 for Pho and Asian food. We also noticed that the City of Hoover is very open to different types of food.
Starting in June, they can simply come see us in Hoover!“

Pho Pho is coming to Hoover in June
- Address: 1580 Montgomery Highway, Hoover, AL

Pho Pho partnered with LAH Commercial Real Estate’s Lyndsy Yim to find a suitable location for their new restaurant. After some searching, they landed on a prime spot right on Montgomery Highway.
Just like their location in The Pizitz Food Hall, the Hoover Pho Pho will offer both pho and Korean dishes. In addition, owner and chef Young Shin will be introducing an Asian Rice Bowl concept at his Hoover location.
What is Pho?
Pho is a type of Vietnamese soup with broth, rice noodles, herbs, meats (if you’re into that) and other delicious ingredients. Pho Pho serves their pho up with bean sprouts, basil, jalapeño slices and lime. Yum!
In addition to this traditional Vietnamese meal, Pho Pho serves up a ton of delicious dishes. My favorite is the Korean BBQ—steamed rice topped off with marinated sliced beef. My tummy is rumblin’ just thinking about it!
Check out their menu to discover your favorite dish.
You Don’t Have to Wait Until June for Pho
