Trussville is getting more, more, more! Here’s what’s coming and what’s newly open for business.
Coming to Trussville
La Cazuela
Another Mexican restaurant has hit the food scene in Trussville. It’s La Cazuela Mexican Cuisine, located where Ken’s Barbecue used to reside.
Owned by Eddie and Araceli Garcia, this is their third venture in the restaurant biz. Others include Shelly’s Bakery in Pinson and La Cazeula in Springville.
So far, the Trussville community has welcome La Cazuela with open arms.
“Trussville is a great area with a lot of support. It’s been really busy thanks to everyone.”
Eddie Garcia, owner, La Cazuela
On the menu you’ll find a variety of Mexican favorites, like fajitas, quesadillas and burritos. But according to Garcia, the fajitas and the street tacos are the way to go.
Find La Cazuela at 8156 Gasden Highway, Trussville AL 35173.
Rodney Scott’s BBQ + more headed to Trussville
RIP Joe’s Restaurant. The space you once called home will soon be taken over with something new. Trust me—you’ll be excited about this one!
Taking over the location will be Rodney Scott’s BBQ. Did your mouth just start watering like mine?
Why was Trussville chosen for the next location for Rodney Scott’s BBQ?
“It’s a great area that is growing and shows lots of enthusiasm and community involvement. We appreciate the city government and have had a great working relationship with Trussville for a while now.”
Nick Pihakis, business partner, Rodney Scott’s BBQ
According to Pihakis, the menu will be the same as the Avondale location.
“We have worked hard on our menu and will have all of our classic smoked meats and vegetable sides at the new location as well as some newer items that we are proud of like fresh salads and our wine, beer and cocktails.”
Wondering what the most popular items are at Rodney Scott’s BBQ?
“Our pulled pork is definitely the most popular, but ribs, smoked chicken and turkey and our chicken wings are definite favorites.”
Also like the Avondale location, Rodney Scott’s BBQ in Trussville will offer a clean, bright and friendly atmosphere along with a full-service bar.
Construction for Rodney Scott’s BBQ will begin soon with a hopeful opening in fall 2020.
Bonus: the Trussville location will feature a drive thru!

Aroma Cafe
Aroma Cafe will soon be opening a new location in Trussville.

Here’s what’s on the menu:
- Fresh roasted coffee, lattes, espresso and other coffee drinks
- A variety of teas
- Scones, muffins and other pastries
- Snacks and breakfast items
But that’s not all that makes the cafe unique.
“Aroma Cafe is open to everyone in the general public, but will have a distinctively Christ-centered atmosphere. It will be a safe place for people to talk about their struggles, seek answers and find love and acceptance.”
Pastor Tim Henning, owner, Aroma Cafe
