Mountain Brook Village’s food scene continues to grow. Year 2020 is looking bright for this neighborhood with the opening of Abhi Eatery and Bar’s second location.
The popular local Asian restaurant, Abhi, will be located in the former AVO location right above the newly opened, Carrigan’s Public House. Two amazing local restaurants in the same building?! Yes, please!
Chef Abhi Sainju is well known throughout the Birmingham food scene. Been to Bamboo on 2nd? Yep, he was the executive chef there. He also opened mo:mo, a personal fave in The Pizitz Food Hall.
Abhi Sainju is originally from Nepal. He opened the first Abhi Eatery and Bar at The Summit in 2017. The restaurant is known for its authentic Asian-inspired dishes. The Mountain Brook Village location will continue to offer crowd favorites but is introducing exclusive offerings to jazz up the menu.
The Mountain Brook Village Abhi features a full sushi bar with over 20 different options. Sainju emphasizes fresh, local produce in his food creations. With fresh ingredients and a rotating menu, every dish is bound to be bursting with flavors.
What makes Abhi’s second location unique?
The mural leading up to the restaurant depicts Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. What better way to pay homage to the chef’s heritage? It was done by local artist, Andy Jordan, who used Google Earth as a reference!
Have you visited Birmingham’s Dread River Distilling Company yet? If you haven’t, you can now taste their drinks at Abhi. It will be one of the first bars in Birmingham to carry Dread River gin outside of their tasting room.
