A Big Year for Homewood Business
Homewood is growing in a lot of different aspects. Although the area is home to some long-standing retailers and popular restaurants, new things are coming in every day. From beautiful living spaces to high-energy fitness gyms, Homewood is ready to meet your every need.

1. Battle Republic
Battle Republic is a boxing-inspired, group fitness gym that opened in February. The workout combines High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), and strength training—not to mention their killer playlists.
Four entrepreneurs with experience in everything from WNBA coaching to running a national brand saw an opportunity to shake things up in the Birmingham fitness scene—and shake it up they have.

2. Bandit
It’s no secret that we’re big fans of Bandit Pâtisserie here at Bham Now. This pâtisserie and café serves up delicious treats from baked goods to espresso to breakfast—and it’s all amazing.

2. Nations Boutique
Formerly known as Nations Outfitters, this women’s boutique opened its second location in Homewood this July. At the end of each season, Nations Boutique gives back a percentage of their earnings to various nonprofits and charities. Some of the local organizations they partner with include The Red Barn and King’s Home.

Greenhouse is about feeling good all the time. It’s a health food hotspot that goes a lot farther than your average green smoothie. Their philosophy is all about balance—fresh, beautiful and whole foods without skipping out on any deliciousness.

4. White Dresses Boutique
White Dresses is a bridal shop that offers a curated collection of handpicked couture wedding gowns and accessories. Their one-on-one appointments offer an intimate shopping experience, and their bridal gowns are as stunning as they are unique.

5. Big Spoon Creamery
Big Spoon Creamery is a small batch, artisan ice cream company that is a true Birmingham favorite. They partner with local farmers and artisans to create their menu that focuses on seasonal flavors using local ingredients, as well as bringing a new, innovative approach to the classics.

7. The Grocery Brewpub
“Brewpubs” include two key elements: beer brewed on location, and a restaurant serving up food in-house. The Grocery does both of these things WELL. My personal recommendation? Taco. Tuesday.
They have a full bar, a great happy hour, delicious eats, a laid-back atmosphere and rotating beers they brew on-site.
