But now there’s a better way.  Enter the new AR (augmented reality) app by La-Z-Boy which lets you easily place furniture wherever whenever—giving you a sneak preview before you buy. GENIUS. 

The technology is super handy, and it even allows you to customize fabric and move items around your space until you find the perfect fit all from your iPhone.

We bounced around downtown from the Rotary Trail to The Roof at The Redmont Hotel to drop some of our favorite La-Z-Boy pieces in front of our favorite places. I must say, it was pretty fun to bring out my interior (and exterior) designer skills around Birmingham. 

But obviously this app is for your space. Whether it’s your home or office, you can use augmented reality to see what something will look like before you buy it. Plus, it’s SO fun and super easy just to play with—even if you’re not in the market for a new ottoman.

Ready to See How La-Z-Boy Furniture Will Look in Your Home? Here’s How it Works in 5 Steps.

1. Download the La-Z-Boy AR App—it’s FREE!

Currently the app is only available in the App Store to iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch users. Android users, stay tuned.

2. Once you download the app, you’ll see “View AR Items” in the middle of the bottom tab on your home screen. Click it.

This will bring you to the Augmented Reality page where you can find everything you need to know about the feature, including a very helpful Q&A at the bottom!

3. Next, scroll down until you see “Shop by Category.”

You can pick from five different categories including:

• Chairs
• Recliners
• Sofas
• Loveseats
• And Ottomans

4. Browse the categories and find a piece you like. You can filter by style or materials, and even sort by most popular or sale.

Settle on a piece and make sure to customize it with your choice of fabric, leather or welt trim.

5. Finally, tap “View Virtually in Your Space” to see the product in your space.

All you need to do is follow the on-screen instructions to start the AR experience, you’re ready to go!
