The progress on the Denham Building in Birmingham’s Parkside area is well underway. We recently toured the building and previewed its latest developments – and I’m completely obsessed!
Equal parts beautiful and expansive, the Denham Building is a mixed-use facility for the modern era, managed by Arlington Properties and developed by Third & Urban.
The Denham Building features opportunities for both residential and commercial leasing, and units are filling up quickly. In fact, it opened its doors with 50% of the units pre-leased! Schedule a tour today, so you can experience your new dream home, too.
History in the Details
Architects Denham, Van Keuren & Denham originally designed the building in 1927, and it served as the Merchants and Manufacturers Terminal Building. Now the Denham Building is well on its way to becoming the “it” destination of Birmingham.
The Denham Building’s sleek black exterior creates a striking aesthetic appeal. With 140,000 square feet altogether, the Denham features 59 coveted residential lofts. Once inside, stunning natural light underscores its modern interior and open floor plan concept.
Hints of its history are also present throughout the building. Some lofts feature the original concrete floors from 1927. Elsewhere, four of the units were formerly refrigerator boxes, but now they are shining examples of this cutting edge development’s beauty.
Living the Dream
Dreamy white walls, trendy subway tiles in the kitchens, and classic mosaic bathroom tiles showcase the Denham Building’s contemporary excellence. Its stunning floor plans include one and two bedroom units as well as one- and two-story options. Spiral staircases, anyone? Units are also available with or without a balcony. Every loft features essential appliances, including laundry.
Residents will also have access to multiple indoor common areas, including a media room for exclusive residential gatherings and more. The Denham Building offers outdoor grilling stations, a workout facility, and its own pet park. Plus, Birmingham’s beloved Railroad Park and Regions Field are within walking distance.
And did I mention that the entire building is dog-friendly?
Parkside is the perfect place to start your next chapter. Make your move, and live at the Denham Building.
The Best of Work and Play
The Denham Building has dedicated 86,000 square feet to commercial leasing, from office and retail space to multiple restaurants and everything in-between. I can’t wait to see who moves in!
One lucky restaurant will be located on the rooftop balcony with one of the most picturesque views of Downtown Birmingham. Although I can’t reveal the details of who will be moving into the space yet, residents and guests alike can expect an inviting and casual but elevated atmosphere. I’m predicting this will be one of everyone’s favorite Birmingham hangouts!
In addition to the restaurants and retail offerings within the Denham Building itself, Atlanta-based Monday Night Brewing is opening their first Alabama brewpub just a stone’s throw away. No really – they share a parking lot! The brewpub is expected open sometime in early 2020, so keep an eye out for its progress, too.
The Parkside Vision
“This is the first big piece of this vision for Parkside,” says Catherine Holcombe of Arlington Properties. “It’s incredible to imagine what this area is going to look like in just one year, let alone two or three years from now.”
Living in a place like the Denham Building offers a unique experience for today’s renter, says Catherine. By uniting convenience and community, it allows residents to experience Birmingham’s best from the comfort of home.
“We haven’t succeeded until they feel they’ve made connections within the building,” says Catherine.
