Here is a bit of trivia.

Since 2009, a Division I team from the state of Alabama has appeared in the College Football National Championship Game  9 of the last 10 years.

No state in the nation comes close to that record.

We love our college football in Alabama. Kickoff for the 2019 season is literally hours away on Thursday, with Birmingham’s  UAB Blazers taking on Alabama State University. Besides attending the games, Bham Now wanted to provide our readers with a guide to some of the best places to watch college football games this week and throughout the season

Here is our list.

Iron City Grill

When UAB Football was disbanded a few years ago, the one local establishment that helped lead the Save UAB Football movement was Iron City.  Today, Iron City is the Official UAB Watch Party site for all the big games.

Looking for a place to watch Auburn & Alabama games in the Highland Park area? Check out ROJO.  This weekend they will be showing the games against Duke and Oregon in their Main Room. It is a great place to gather around and watch a game. Like a big living room.

Avondale Brewing Company

Want to tailgate on Saturday, August 31st?  Avondale  Brewing is setting up an all day special tailgating watch party and they are giving you options from having it catered, securing a tent or just coming to hangout and drink beer. Check out this great “kickoff” event.

Who doesn’t like pinball and football?  It’s the perfect combination.  If your team is losing, what better way to let out your anger.  If they are winning, what better way to celebrate!

Sky Castle

If you love football of all kinds – college and the NFL – Sky Castle in the Lakeview District is the place to be. As you can see from last week’s Facebook post about the Florida-Miami game, Sky Castle also offers great drink specials too.

Located at 2808 7th Ave. South, Birmingham, AL 35233

SLEEK

Don’t let the construction around SLEEK hinder you from making it down 5 Points South to see Bama take on the Blue Devils and Auburn against the Ducks.  Opponents are welcome.  Last year, the Oklahoma Alumni held their Alabama-Oklahoma Semi-final Watch Party at SLEEK.
